The job of Lady Assistant Superintendent Jail is an important, respected and empowered position for women. Through this job, women get the opportunity that was previously only available to men β that is, to enforce the law and run the prison system.
This job not only gives the responsibility of taking care of security, but also of taking care of the mental health, correction, and self-respect of women prisoners.

1. Maintaining discipline:
You must have to Maintain peace in the women’s section of the jail, prevent the fights, and keep everyone in line with the law.
2. Running a correctional program:
Educating women prisoners, conducting training courses, and counseling them so that they can lead a better life.
3. Staff supervision:
Monitoring women wardens and other staff to ensure that they are doing their job properly.
4. Taking care of cleanliness and health:
Providing women prisoners with a clean environment, good food, and treatment.
5. Making reports:
Keeping records of prisoners, making daily reports, and making quick decisions in case of an emergency.
6. Monitoring security:
Preventing prisoners from escaping, smuggling, or any other violation of the law.
7. Liaising with legal institutions:
Limiting work related to women prisoners with the police, courts, and social welfare institutions.

1οΈβ£ New female candidates:
β£ At least BA or BSc (Second Division)
β£ It is better if you have studied Law, Sociology, Psychology or Public Administration
2οΈβ£ Women already working in the department:
β£ At least 5 years of experience as Lady Warden or Head Warden
β£ Service certificate from Superintendent and DIG Jail is mandatory
β£ Those who can understand the pain of others
β£ Those who have leadership skills
β£ Those who can take quick decisions in any difficult situation in the jail
β£ Those who take care of the dignity and privacy of the prisoners
β£ Those who can talk to the police, court, NGOs and the families of the prisoners in a professional manner
Women who perform well get several opportunities for advancement, such as:

β£ Deputy Inspector General (DIG) β Women Wing
β£ Inspector General (IG) β Head of Women Affairs

Scale: BS-16
Salary: Approximately Rs. 45,000 to 60,000 per month (as per government policy)
